With many different volunteer positions and time commitments on our volunteer team, we will find a place that is perfect for you. Many of our volunteers find themselves involved in many different areas because they love what they do! The following volunteer positions describe the many ways volunteers are involved in making wishes come true:
Wish Granter:
Meet with our very special Wish Kids to discover, plan and fulfill their wish and leave their family with a lasting, memorable experience. Wish Granters work in teams of two and use resources wisely by seeking donated services and/or goods appropriate for each wish. These volunteers commit their time to make the wish as unique as each child by utilizing creative energy, entrepreneurial enthusiasm, and the ability to give freely of their time. Wish Granters must be at least 18 years old and pass a background check. Wish Granters are asked to attend a Wish Granter Training – usually held in conjunction with our general volunteer orientation. To read more about Wish-Granting, click HERE.
Wish Ambassador:
Represents the Foundation at various community events with general information and marketing materials provided. Tasks associated with the event determine time commitment. Wish Ambassadors are asked to attend Wish Granter Training as well as meet with our Development Team as needed for coaching.
Wish Magician:
Support the granting of wishes through fundraising events, family activities and office operations. Specific areas include:
- Special Events Crew:
Work on internal and external fundraising events. Your level of involvement is associated with the event and determines the time and commitment involved.
- Family Activity Crew:
Supports wish families by and implementing special activities (usually associated with holidays of other major events). Tasks associated with the event determine the time commitment.
Wish Consultant:
Share your expertise to help make wishes possible! This role is well suited for volunteers with limited but flexible time and talent or expertise in a specific area. Consultants can help with specific wishes, support special projects, or help in an area of critical need. Examples include language translators, hair dressers, interior design, construction, graphics, photography, video, computer technology, public speaking, etc. Our greatest consultant need at this time is bilingual volunteers. Please contact our Volunteer Manager if you are interested in helping as a consultant.
Kids For Wish Kids® :
Sometimes the biggest donor doesn't have to be so big! Our Kids For Wish Kids Program helps children discover the importance of philanthropy and community service. This program is about kids helping other kids. Adult volunteers are needed to personally contact teachers and principals in all areas. The students and teachers will organize the fund-raisers, but we need volunteers to make the initial contact with the schools. The time commitment will be minimal and the rewards are priceless!
